Greetings from Sweden, Maine! I'm here as a violin/chamber music faculty at Camp Encore/Coda.
This is my seventh summer at Camp Encore/Coda and every year is different from another. This year I teach 10 private students, 2 string quartets, musicianship class, performance class (studio class), and orchestra sectionals. All students are really fun to work with and I enjoy every moment of their lessons. In my performance class they worked on violin ensemble arrangement of "the Entertainer" by Scott Joplin and they performed it in a camper concert.
What I enjoy the most here is orchestra sectionals. The campers are learning "Night on Bald Mountain" by Mussorgsky and some of Hungarian Dances by Brahms this summer. They already performed the Mussorgsky last week. I have been teaching them to play with more energy and passion and here's a YouTube video I used to inspire them:

On top of our teaching, we have had three faculty concerts and I had a pleasure of performing Duo for Violin and Cello by Zoltan Kodaly, another duo by Bohuslav Martinu, Suite for Violin, Clarinet and Piano by Darius Milhaud and the first movement of Violin Concerto by Igor Stravinsky. I'm so grateful for being able to work with such great musicians here!
We have four teaching days left, then "Parent's Day" when all ensembles perform for their families. It will be so sad to leave this place in about a week...
