It was a fun (and very hot) day for us. I enjoyed playing all the rep for the inmates. This was our first time to visit a prison and the whole experience of going through securities and countless doors to get to the gym was... well, once-in-life-time kind of feeling. The same group will perform the entire Octet by Schubert on September 22 at Chappaqua Library Auditorium. The admission is free. Also there's a free open rehearsal at Atria Rye Brook on Sept 19 in the evening.
It's a long piece with six movements and I'm learning the four that we didn't perform at the prison. After I study the score I will write more about the piece!
