lrmc student recital

Congrats to all who performed at Long Ridge Music Center's student recital this past Sunday! As always, it was a great series of student recitals at LRMC. All my students, old and new, had worked very hard (some were only given a few weeks to work on their recital repertoire). I couldn't be more proud of them. They played with confidence and while they performed I thought "wow, they improved so much". I could feel that they truly understand the music and technique and most of all, they enjoy playing their pieces! My new students must have gone through a hard time first to get used to my teaching style but they all had a break-through at one point (which came earlier than I had expected) and after that, they started to sound very strong.
Good job, everyone! Looking forward to the next semester!

another student recital ... tomorrow!
My private student recital is tomorrow! It's a joint recital with students of Yang Sun Kim and Mina Kim. To make it even more exciting, I invited two of my students from Camp Encore/Coda to perform. All string students are to play ensemble with the teachers and at the end, Yang Sun, Mina and I will play "Gypsy Dance" from Carmen at the end. Fun piece!
Open to public, 2pm at Greenwich Arts Council (299 Greenwich Ave. Greenwich, CT).

new project
I came up with an idea of video taping my own students demonstrate practice technique. I always show students how to practice but sometimes they don't remember exactly and I have to write out the entire practice method. But now students can watch the videos while they practice. I have taped an excerpt from "Chorus from Judas Macabeaus" from Suzuki Violin book 2 and after I edit the materials I will post it on "For Chie's Students" page.
Okay, back to baking for the recital reception!
